So I'm not one that's lucky in contests etc...but what do you know, put my name in, and even though they haven't officially sent emails congratulating people drawn, my credit card has been charged. Apparently I'm running the Nike Women's Marathon in October...holy crap.
And on a note around that...Boston is 4 weeks from Monday, today was supposed to be #2 of 20 miles and it ended at 10.5...and was not good. I didn't feel the energy to do 1 more whole loop of the lakes. Thought I'd call it quits and rest, then get back out for a second run...nope...hasn't happend. And at this point, doubting it will. I was adjusted yesterday for the run...something was still off in my pelvis/SI while running, but it wasn't even that. It was flat out lack of energy and negative thoughts. So I think after Boston...however I struggle through and give an embarassing performance...that I have mom and dad coming to...I'm taking a break. Not going to run Minneapolis Marathon and just try to take the time and let running feel good again. It's just unfair that now, when the weather is finally getting good again, I just can't enjoy it.

At least the weather is getting warmer for running outdoors! :)
Hey, I heard GB Leighton is probably performing in Fargo in April... too cool!
I think a break sounds like a good idea. I went through that funk after Hood to Coast this past summer. It drove me nuts that I didn't want to run even though the weather was perfect! Anyway, don't stress about Boston. You'll do great!
Where is the Nike Women's marathon? Oct. is a good way out - you'll have time for a break and to start training again!
That is awesome! I would love to run that race. Good luck over the next 4 weeks and you'll run well just have positive thoughts. Enjoy your upcoming break.
I think you're taking the right approach. You'll enjoy Boston that much more that way.
Focus on the fun parts, and let the rest go!
You got in! Congratulations! My Visa is only reporting charges up until March 19th, but I don't think anyone in my group has seen their card charged yet...
Sorry to hear about the 20 miler that wasn't. A break definitely sounds like a good idea. Hope you get your mojo back soon though!
That's so awesome that you got in! Did you register for the full or the half? I haven't heard yet, so I'm guessing that's not a good thing.
hey the hard part was qualifing right? Now you get to enjoy being part of an amazing race... you only get to live once so don't spend your time being worried about a silly race (says the girl who is learning not to be worried about only running 3 miles)
Danielle - Your story of running Boston was so inspiring. Through your details of running it, it felt as if I were there too. What a wonderful experience. This only makes my quest to qualify now that much stronger.
